Such feature is useful and is becoming a default on newer Bluetooth speakers. The JBL FLIP 2 has a built in speakerphone and microphone. The Battery/Charging indicator displays the current charging/battery status. Similarly, the Phone/Call indicator lights up during calls. You can also manually press the Bluetooth button for pairing. Once paired, the flashing stops and the Bluetooth indicator lights up steadily. Once you turn on the speaker, the Bluetooth indicator starts to blink and the speaker continuously beep indicating that it is ready to pair with other devices. The JBL FLIP 2 also has a more sturdy and premium carrying case. Harman has also included three different adapter heads. Harman has addressed that issue and the JBL FLIP 2 now uses a micro-USB. A major let down from the previous FLIP model was the generic AC adapter used for charging. On the other side is the NFC.Īt the back of the JBL FLIP 2 you can find the Battery/Charging indicator, 3.5mm auxiliary input and micro-USB. On one side of the JBL FLIP 2 are the Call, Power, Bluetooth and Volume buttons/LED indicators. The JBL FLIP 2 has some weight to it but has a solid build quality. The design and rubber exterior secures the speaker in place.
The FLIP speaker can be used vertically or horizontally. Well, you don’t have to guess where the FLIP got its name. The JBL FLIP 2 has the same cylindrical-shaped body as its predecessor but now has a slimmer, more appealing minimalist design with its rubber matte exterior hugging its hard plastic and glossy metal mesh grill.
